“Why did you give it to her?” Ranamon pouted at the ocea and stamped a foot firmly on the waves beneath her. “Why didn’t you destroy it? You could have, I know you could! No one knows better than I do!”
Waves lapped against her toes, and she wriggled them a little, enjoying the sensation. Perhaps the water was trying to apologize.
“I don’t accept it!” Ranamon declared. “You should have destroyed it and her too! That little girl!” She shook one fist in a random direction. “I’ll get my revenge! Just you wait and see!”
The ocean was silent.
