As usual, it started how the previous year ended, with a mini-series called Band of Brothers. Re: GOT, Season 5 seems to be a "love it or hate it" season. I've seen people give up on the series completely because of it, and others say it was the best season of all, but no one who's just "meh" about it. I actually haven't seen it yet because I watch the series on DVD, but I've heard about the major events. I did also hear, though, that the casting calls for Season 6 included "a pirate, feared across the seas", so maybe Euron will be putting in an appearance?

Re: wildlife, that's an awesome cassowary picture! The unusually warm weather we had here during Christmas week meant there were a lot of birds around--I saw a red-bellied woodpecker a couple days after Christmas, which is a new species for me.

Re: Capt America, they showed a trailer for Civil War when I went to see The Force Awakens. It looks like Tony Stark finds out the hard way that trying to get between a WWII vet and his squadmate is a *really* bad idea. I guess maybe *he* needs to watch Band of Brothers?

Happy New Year!
