Yeah, I forgot my umbrella on Friday...got completely soaked through on my bike ride to the post office and was bitchy and grumpy to the post workers OTL; But it's nice that there are crappy 300 yen umbrellas everywhere!

...gotta go pack now. Sorry about the crappy weather on your birthday! But I hope the rest of your Kyoto trip makes up for it =Db
