Also, this was written a little last minute, cause I decided I wanted to put something up for this challenge. So if it's not great, I'm sorry. >.<
Winter. Elphaba had hated winter for as long as she could remember.
It snowed in winter, and snow was just another form of water. So, she had to bundle up like she did when it was raining. Only, unlike the rest of the year, in winter she had to do this every time she left the building.
So, she trudged from class to class, having to remove layers of shawls at each one, her feet sweating in the many layers of socks she wore under heavy shoes.
Also, in winter, she had to beware rowdy boys, who might find it cute to throw an unexpected snowball at her. This added to her misery of winter.
But when she finally retired to her dorm room for the night, a warm fire and the strong scent of Galinda’s perfume welcomed her.
She snuggled under the threadbare covers in her bed, and Galinda padded across the room bringing a poetry book, the smell of flowers, and her huge blanket with her. As the book was shoved in her lap, and the small blonde demanded that it be read to her, Elphaba decided that winter wasn’t so bad after all. Winter nights at least.
