Hey everyone, I am fairly new to livejournal. I am a big fan of the Gelphie pairing, and have even started writing a fanfiction of my own. I have read many very well written stories, and I would like some feedback on mine. I have posted a link to my story, well, the first part anyway. I just want some feedback letting me know if you like it so far, and if you think I should continue. Also if you think I should continue, any writing tips or advise of any kind is always appreciated. If I do decide to continue, is there anyone who would be willing to help me around livejournal since I am new and kinda stupid when it comes to learning things on new communities. If you would be willing to do that my AIM is deadeye71288. I would be really grateful. Thanks so much and I can't wait for the feedback.
Untitled as of yet

Standing no in front of the door to the room that she was assigned to, gathering up all of her strength she plastered on the smile that she showed all of Oz, the smile that she used to hide the feelings and the hurt that only she knew of.
Before opening the door, she took one last look at her papers to make sure that she was indeed entering the correct dorm room.
Room 114
Galinda Upland
Elphaba Thropp
‘Elphaba,’ Galinda thought to herself, ‘that’s not a name one hears every day.’ Ignoring the fact that her roommate’s name was the most unusual name she had ever heard, she opened the door and entered.
Scanning the room she saw two desks, two bookshelves, two four poster beds, a massive fire place, and a door that she assumed led to the bathroom. At second glance she noticed that one of the beds was occupied by a single suitcase, and a side bag. Looking over at the other bed she saw that all of her luggage had been brought up. She brought with her four suitcases, six garment bas, one large trunk, and a carry-on.
Just then the silence was broken by shattering glass followed by a loud, “God Damn it,” coming from the bathroom. Galinda moved slightly so that she could see into the bathroom. The person she assumed was her roommate ad dropped and broken a bottle in the sink.
After earning a rather nasty glare from the girl fumbling around in the bathroom, Galinda decided it would be best if she mind her own business. Returning to her bed and luggage she began to unpack and contemplate what she had just seen. Was she just so tired from her journey that her mind was playing tricks on her, or was her roommate in fact as green as the Emerald City itself. As the other girl walked out of the bathroom all of her questions were answered. She wasn’t going crazy. Her roommate was as green if not greener than the leaves on the tree just outside their window.
Elphaba left the bathroom and headed straight to her bed picking up a book on the way. She hadn’t so much as acknowledged Galinda’s presence. Upon arriving at her bed, she cleared off her few belongings and sat curled up against the headboard and began to read.
“Miss Elphaba, I presume?” Galinda inquired nervously.
“Who wants to know?” Elphaba responded without looking up.
“I am Miss Galinda of Frotica. It seems we are going to be rooming together.”
“Yup.”
“So where are you from Miss Elphaba?”
“What do you care?”
“I was just wondering. I thought I would ask questions. I thought it would help me in getting to know the person I will be living with for a while.”
“Miss Galinda, is it?” Elphaba questioned putting the book down and looking at her blonde roommate for the first time. “I did not come to this school to make friends, I came to learn and that is what I intend to do. I do not wish to discuss details about myself with anyone seeing as how it usually gets used against me in the long run. I am not a social butterfly and I do not want to be mistaken for one. I enjoy the company of my books and nothing more. Now if you have no further questions, I am going to get back to my book.”
“I’m sorry Miss Elphaba, I just thought that maybe we could be friends,” Galinda said in a noticeably upset tone.
“I don’t have friends,” Elphaba said rather flatly. “Friends only let you down in the end. Take that into consideration next time you think about making friends with anyone.”
On that note, the conversation was over. Galinda starred at her roommate wondering why she wouldn’t even try to be friends with her. She decided that conversation was best saved for another day. She didn’t want to push Elphaba too far on the first night they spent at Shiz. I might ruin what little hope there was that the green girl may eventually warm up to her.
Each girl took their turn in the bathroom getting ready for bed. When Elphaba had finished and emerged, Galinda was already in bed. When Galinda heard Elphaba settle into bed, she rolled over and looked at her Emerald roommate.
“Fresh dreams Miss Elphaba.” On receiving no reply she shrugged it off and rolled over drifting off into a peaceful slumber.
Across the room Elphaba lay awake facing away from her blonde roommate. Galinda was the first person to show an interest in befriending the green woman, so this was all very strange to her. Hoping that by the morning Galinda will have forgotten about this friend nonsense, Elphaba rolled over and drifted to sleep.
The next morning Galinda awoke to her dorm room door closing. Realizing that it was seven in the morning, and she didn’t have classes until noon, she rolled over in hopes of getting more sleep. Her efforts proved to be fruitless. Try as she might, Galinda couldn’t stop thinking about a certain green someone. She didn’t understand why Elphaba wasn’t willing to even try to be friends with her.
After an hour of attempting to fall back to sleep, Galinda decided she would go get some breakfast. Slipping on a dress and running a brush through her hair quickly, she made her way out the door and down to the cafeteria.
After collecting a muffin and some tea, Galinda began to make her way to the door of the cafeteria she tripped over the strap of someone’s bag. Before she knew it, the tea had been taken out of her hand and the muffin had fallen to the floor. Galinda braced herself for an impact with the floor that surprisingly never occurred. Instead of hitting the floor, Galinda felt a firm grip around her waist. Looking down at her waist she saw a green arm wrapped around her that she followed up to a rather worried green face.
“You should really watch where you are walking Miss Galinda,” Elphaba said standing her up and handing her the tea that she had rescued from the falling girls hand.
“Thank you Miss Elphaba.”
“You’re welcome Miss Galinda. Now what in Oz are you doing down here so early? Your classes don’t start until noon.”
“I couldn’t sleep and I was getting a bit hungry.”
“Well, Miss Galinda, if I were you I would get back upstairs and get as much beauty sleep as you can before you have to get up.” Elphaba paused and thought about what she had just said. “Not that you need it or anything . . . beauty sleep that is. I mean, you’re already very beautiful.” Elphaba stopped again, mentally punching herself after realizing what had been said. She quickly looked at the ground as if suddenly interested in what the tops of her boots looked like.
“I’m sorry,” she said finally. “I’m going to get to class.”
With that she turned and started walking to the door, only to be stopped by a gentle hand on her shoulder. She turned quickly coming eye to eye with the blonde.
“Have a good day Miss Elphaba,” Galinda said smiling. Elphaba noticed that this wasn’t the same plastic smile she had seen all the times before, but a genuine smile that told Elphaba that everything was okay.
“You do the same Miss Galinda,” she replied before turning and leaving. As she neared the door Elphaba turned around to catch one more glimpse of her roommate before going to class. Elphaba could feel something going on inside of her, like the clouds had lifted, or like a large burden had been taken off of her. ‘Maybe,’ she thought to herself, ‘Maybe I could give it a shot. What’s there to lose?’
Back up in her room Galinda ate breakfast, but still couldn’t get the green girl off of her mind. She though back to what had just happened in the cafeteria, and remembered how her heart had about jumped out of her chest when Elphaba had said that she was beautiful. She wondered if Elphaba had really meant it.
Looking at the clock, Galinda decided that she should start getting ready for the day. She wasn’t all that thrilled about school, but she mustered up all her will power to go out and face the day. The main thing that kept her going is that she would get to see Elphaba again that night and every night for that matter. And so she headed out the door ready to face the day.
As Elphaba was walking from her last class back to her room she overheard a group of girls giggling. Glancing to see what was going on, she saw a group of girls pointing and laughing at her calling her things like “Artichoke,” and “The Green Bean.” Among the girls was Galinda, though she wasn’t laughing. As a matter of fact, she had a rather horrified look on her face. Elphaba thought the look was borne from being caught making fun, little did she know though that Galinda was appalled that people were making fun of her. Elphaba turned and hastily made a retreat back to her dorm room. Once she was safely inside Elphaba threw her bag onto her bed and her books onto her desk.
“I told you not to even thing about it,” she muttered to herself as she kicked off her shoes. She then began pacing trying to calm herself. “I told you nothing like this could work. You don’t have friends because you don’t deserve them. Nobody will ever be your friend.” She stopped when she caught sight of herself in the mirror of Galinda’s vanity. She stood still and continued to scold herself. “You’re green,” she said as she studied her reflection. “Who could be friends with you? Nobody could. Nobody could like you and nobody could care.”
“I could.” Galinda’s declaration had startled Elphaba. In the middle of shouting and degrading herself, she hadn’t heard Galinda enter. “I am sorry Elphaba. They shouldn’t have been saying those things,” Galinda apologized stepping closer, wanting so badly to comfort Elphaba and let her know that someone does care about her and how she feels.
“Why do you care?”
“Because what they said hurt you.”
“Why do you care if they hurt me or not? You were hanging out with them.”
“I care that you are hurt because, believe it or not, I care about you. I want to be your friend Elphaba. I may have been hanging out with them yes, but once they started making fun of you, something inside of me started to hurt.” By this time Galinda was close to tears, but she continued. “Please trust and believe me when I say that I had no part in making fun of you. In fact, I will not be seen with them anymore.” Galinda said sighing out loud. “I want to be your friend Elphaba, but for that to happen, you have to trust me, that’s something that friends do.”
“Why should I give you my trust when I don’t even understand why you want to be my friend? For all I know, you could just be trying to get close to me so that you can find out more about me, so that you have more ammunition to make me the laughing stock of the school. If that is what you are trying to do Galinda, I have news for you, that wouldn’t bother me in the slightest bit. I have been a laughing stock my whole life.
Galinda stood dumbfounded and taken aback by the accusations of her roommate. “Do you really think that low of me that you think I would do something like that?”
“It’s what one comes to expect when that’s all they’ve known in life.”
“Elphaba, I’m not like everyone else, and I wish you would just give me the chance to prove it,” Galinda shouted at Elphaba, hoping to get her point across.
Elphaba couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Not only was Galinda telling her that she wanted to be her friend, but she was also fighting for it when she was turned down.
“Wish granted,” Elphaba said quietly.
“What?”
“You got your wish. I will give you the chance to prove to me you are not as shallow as the rest of the world seems.”
“Thank you Elphaba.”
