I loved Boondock Saints, and this story was wonderful, reflecting how eerily close the twins are and far they're willing to go for each other, even back then. It's very easy to see these kids ending up exactly how they are in the film, all raw and a little disconnected from reality in that their biggest worry after killing a man is that their mother might find out.
Only one thing. At one point you say Connor’d never been beat in a fight with the other 11-year-olds, but in the summary, you say they're 7, not 11, so the other doesn't really make sense.
I'm...something. And hi! Again! It's...good to be back. I had to get away for a while, but it's good to be back ^_^
My friend had me watch the movie a few weeks ago, and it was love at first sight--people've been telling me to watch that movie for forever, but it's been so hard to get (not a single Hollywood Video or Blockbuster carries it in my area--they all got lost or stolen) that I didn't do it earlier. There's a lot of good fiction on them, though almost all fiction on them's kinda old; I'm guessing this is sort've a dead fandom?
Eek! Thanks for catching the typo; I wasn't sure if I'd specified how old they were in the fic (I thought I had, but then I couldn't find where later) or not--I'll go clean that up now.
Yeah, sometimes getting away is good. Not that I'm self-disciplined enough to ever make a clean break, but a little bit of distance never hurt anyone.
I saw Boondock Saints a few weeks ago when someone in my geek club at college showed it in the lounge. My favorite character was Smecker. I love genius nuts. For good fic, I reccommend guede mazaka here: http://www.waxjism.org/gm/boon/ . Her fic's a little head-trippy, but still high quality.
No problem. I swear, my mind zones in on those things when it's not, you know, my own fic, where'd the skill would be most useful.
I just love the concept of the movie; I mean, I'm Catholic and cranky enough that I was arguing with everything, but it was weird. But good. And yet, really, really bad (probably the Catholic speaking there, but maybe that's the PC part too).
Smecker had me from hello. Or at least, the classical. The part where he starts shooting in the air was more than a little weird--also the dress and squirming on the floor. Could not keep a straight face.
And sadly, so, so sadly, I read just about everything Guede had on Boondocks within 43 hours of seeing the movie. So sadly. I was already familiar with her FF7 stuff (she does an evil Seph and Vincent--good stuff, also Kadaj), I remember seeing the Boondock tag, so I went back.
Her fics are extremely head-trippy. Two or 5 paragraphs can go by without me understanding a thing.
Hee! The Star Wars one? That does open a neat can of worms--tis much fun. And yeah, still can't quite get over how small the Saints fandom is; there's plenty of great fic out there, but a lot of it is several years old. Still good, just...wow.

It was creepy but in such a good way! The end especially, the first time with the prayer, gave me goosebumps.
Excellent job.
