Tom Cruise aside, it was a good movie and the reasons I heard that Singer and such had a hard time getting permission to film there and in other parts of Germany because of the fact that Cruise is a part of Scientology (sp?) and the German government views that as a cult (which, when you think about it...it kinda is).

I want to see the other two movies on the plot, I've heard that they're more close to the truth in terms of accuracy although I might have to find a subtitled version ^-^

Also, the website overthinkingit.com did a podcast on the movie and they bring up some good points on the movie/the whole issue of the time period.

Yep, that's about right. Tom Cruise's affiliation with Scientology was the reason why they didn't want them filming there and I wholly agree with them. The Bendlerblock is a kind of symbol for the fight for freedom and officers with a conscience in a time when a conscience could get you killed and then someone belonging to such a totalitarian organisation such as Scientology wants to film there... the whole thing makes me shudder :S

Thanks for the hint with overthinkingit.com, I'll have a look there in the next few days :)
