I'm currently watching Mistresses (without being aware of the fact that in later seasons, Kavan Smith will make an appearance even though technically, I actually knew about that and long story short, sometimes, I'm really dumb.) and it's the episode with the Heidi Klum swimsuit model doppelganger, yes? (I could also give a long rant about how a lot of people on this side - even clever people - do not understand what the EU is. But that's a different story, but maybe all part of the same problem.)

My dad (who is my go to person for movie Russian, since he went to Ukraine for his degree many, many, many years ago and keeps up with contemporary Ukrainian and Russian news) likes to say that in the last couple years, Russian in American movies improved a lot (then again, I have a feeling that he keeps comparing it to 1960s Bond movies, so...) and sounds like Russian, instead of just some made-up words vaguely resembling what Americans think Russian is supposed to sound (like it used to be) so apparently, some progress is possible.

I should ask my sister-in-law about Armie Hammer's fake Russian accent (she's Russian and doesn't sound like that when she speaks English).
