- American Science Fiction TV: Star Trek, Stargate and Beyond by Jan Johnson-Smith (it focuses mostly on Trek, but there might be a few bits here and there you could use)
- Stepping through the Stargate: Science, Archaeology and the Military in Stargate SG-1, edited by P.N. Elrod and Roxanne Conrad (they paint Carter more as a scientist than a warrior, but again, there might be a few additional sentences here and there)
- Reading Stargate SG-1, edited by Stan Beeler and Lisa Dickson (there's a chapter about Sam and her female fans, feminism etc., not sure if this goes in the right direction)
I used those books for my own thesis on SG-1, but my focus was not on Stargate and its women when I read them so I don't know how much use they'll be to you.
