Like I said in my last post, I think I actually decided for a topic a few weeks ago. While my first ideas were all historic topics (easy to find because you can pin them down in a specific time frame and what not), I realized I do like military history but I still love sociology more so I tried to come up with sociologic topics

I should probably get that box together and ship it to you ASAP then. I have probably...uh...too many books for you now. And at least 4 of them (off the top of my head) are soldier narrative type books. Though I'll probably have to ask for one or two back eventually. You know when you return the DVD's I sent you like 3 years ago. Okay? ;)

This is why I love you. You manage to remind me and make me feel like an idiot without making me feel like an idiot, err, if yaknowwhattamean :D
Anyway, plan A is still the female veterans and I'm going to try to stick with it (because zero research in Germany. Zero research! It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it!) but if I need to go to plan B, a comparative approach (ie. German and US narratives) would be totally on my list and I'd get back to you about it :D

This is why I could never go into psychology. All. Those. Numbers :S I'm just really unsure of how to solve the issue of transcribing the interviews. I'm not trained in it and I'd probably waste six months with only trying to accurately transcribing several hours of interviews and I'd totally fuck up my thesis because of that but I can't afford to pay anyone for doing it. I'm afraid that this might kind of fuck up the entire topic and I'll need to go to plan B, after all...
