So I survived another New Year's Eve (Silvester) and this time I didn't even have to fear for my life. Usually, New Year's Eve in Berlin means war, as it's the only day in the year Germans are allowed to legally use pyrotechnics and we made an art of it. Basically, it sounds and feels as if you're in a war zone the moment pyrotechnics sale begins
