There are show off air for many years, and they are not dead, thinking of Babylon 5 or Firefly or even Star Trek

Exactly. I'm finding this whole "OMG IT'S GONE AND IT WON'T COME BACK!" thing... disturbing (as in "I find your lack of faith disturbing." disturbing ;)). Why would it be dead jus because there are no new episodes?

And one day, some screwed mind will think it would be a good idea to reboot the whole thing

Let's make a bet on how long it will take to reboot Stargate. I say, five years. Any other suggestions?

I'm sure it will eventually be rebooted, maybe in five to ten years. Right now we're where Star Trek was in the seventies, with lots of novels to sustain us and lots of fanworks. Which I think is a pretty good place to be! And in a few years there will be a shiny new thing.

My bet is on five rather than ten. Since they rebooted BSG, reboots have been kind of in fashion and I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't plans for that somewhere already.

It'll sure be weird to be one of the "I used to know that when it was still the original version." crowd the first time in my life ;)

After they sold so many props from SGA, I somehow knew that there wouldn't be any SGA movies or tv-films. I mean, come one.... that was blatantly obvious!

And even though I wouldn't say that this is the end of the Stargate franchise, it is in some way the visual end, since we won't see our fave actors being our fave characters and such.
I know that you can read fanfic like yours & look at art like calcitrix, right?
But still, I loved the slanted mouth Hewlett made, the dimples of Smith & Nykl's ruffled mad scientist hair on my screen. :(

P.S.: Looky, what I found -> http://twitpic.com/4m7g5y/full

Yes, it was, and I felt cheated every time someone said "Oh but it's just props. They can make new ones in no time flat." Yeah, maybe they could have but it was almost painful how obvious it was that they didn't want to. (or maybe couldn't, even if they wanted to)

That mouth wouldn't stay silent, the dimples will appear on other shows (and cons!) and the mad scientist blogs :D

Ach, you do know how to cheer up! *huggles*
Though I have to say, that I would never pay for a Con, so I guess I will never see any of them on one... :D

Btw, have you posted a question to the KSmith, too, last weekend?

This is very sad news indeed. But then, I already thought that when they cancelled SG-1 and later SGA.

I grew up with this franchise. It's weird to know there won't be something new on screen...

I kind of did, too. But I didn't really watch SGU so I already had some time to get used to "no more new Stargate" and I think I'm very glad about the fact that I seem to be able to enjoy new fanfic as if it were a new ep on screen.

see, I watched SGU and I belong to the few people who actually liked it. :-(

I don't know about "fanfic as if it were a new ep on screen.". Maybe I'm just too picky about fanfiction. but then, I always prefered the fanfics that show "behind the scenes" things...
