Oooh... okay. Teyla's awesome because she's a leader of her people and she does a great job of (if the writers let her, that is). She knows how to fight but she prefers diplomacy whenever possible and she never gives up trying to make the Earth people see that not living their way doesn't mean someone is inferior to them.
She's also insecure about a "working mum" but she makes a brave decision and she stands by it and I love it that she didn't give up her spot on the team after Torren was born.
I also love her loyalty, both to her people and to her team and that she never makes it easy for herself. She has a very big heart and she's a good teacher because she's both patient and no-nonsense when she has to be.
Teyla rocks! (if she's given the care and attention she deserves... I still resent the SGA writers for seemingly never even making an attempt to give her real character development, not those crude, half-assed tries they gave us instead)
Somehow I knew that before I even clicked on the notification :D
Okay... what's not to love about Sam? I don't care if she's a Mary Sue or not, she rocks!
I think Sam Carter and Sarah MacKenzie (from JAG) were the first female rolemodels from TV I honestly admired and wanted to be like. Sam's a soldier and a scientist and a very good one at that and she never was shy to show how proud she was of that. Sam taught me it's cool when a women is openly proud of what she knows and what she can do and that you don't have to hold back when you just know that you're right. I always wanted to be as fearless and smart as she is and I think she was very important on TV because I harbor the hope that I wasn't the only one she inspired.
She's fierce and spunky and she has a penchant for acting and speaking before thinking and there's a certain irreverent streak in her that makes her so great to write. I also think she knows what she wants and that's something I always admire in people. Did you know that jo_graham gave Cadman a promotion and subplots in two of her Legacy books? I think that made her my eternal hero and now I really have to go and hunt down her books ;)
I didn't know about Cadman being in the Legacy series. I was already definitely interested (the books sound fabulous, and several of my favorite characters are going to get story arcs!), but now I can't wait to read them!
She said it in this post and her answers in the comments (read them all, you won't regret it) made me flail and squee and then flail and squee some more ;)
Okay, like I said, she was one of the first female characters on TV that were role-models for me. She was always straight forward and she was never afraid to tell Harm (or any of the other male characters for that matter) off when she thought he was wrong. She also didn't freeze in awe because of Harm's Mad Lawyer Skillz and was always a match for him (professionally wise, i mean). I loved it that she was both a kick-ass lawyer and a kick-ass soldier and had, despite everything, insecurities and flaws she tried to battle (although sometimes I had a feeling that was overshadowed by Harm's superior Man Pain :P). Sarah MacKenzie got me hooked on the Marines :D

Totally, I mean what with her curse of men who dated her dying, and her alcoholism and her having grown up for years with her Uncle Matt because her parents couldn't raise her...she definitely had demons and flaws.
Its funny though because while I loved Mac, she wasn't my favorite JAG female character. (I give you 2 bazillion useless imaginary points if you can figure out which one was my favorite ;))
Mehehehe, Harriet! Did I ever tell you how much I loved the scene where she told her mother off, shortly before getting married? When her mother was all like "We Beaumont women..." and she fired back that she was an Ensign of the United States Navy? Oooh, that was a great moment!

Although I'm minutly mollified because Jamie is on another show that I watch Drop Dead Diva as a kick-ass lawyer.

YES! I know everyone loves him (usually, I do, too) but that thing with Tess was not cool :( They really could have written that better.
Jamie is on another show that I watch
She's only in there for two eps, though, right?

Not sure, although it wouldn't surprise me if that was true or she showed up again towards the end of the season.
