what's with all the advertisements showing up as a yellow line under certain words, like work, intranet, exercise equipment and other things??? wtf. there was never advertising before....

edit: yeah... virus, spyware crap.

You have spyware on your computer. I suggest you get Adaware (they have a free trial version) and eradicate the annoying little fuckers. I'd post a link, but I think that's against livejournal policy somewhere. A google search should find it for you quick enough.

I totally had the same thing!!!!!! Ad-Aware didn't even fix it either. I think it's actually a company that creates "anti-spyware" that is giving you pop-ups to remove the spyware that was installed on your computer by THEM! TOTALLY SKETCHY. Anyways, I got mine fixed, and it was pretty complicated. These people helped me out at http://www.short-media.com/forum/. Not sure if it will really help... it took me a few hours to get everything straightened out. The name of the spyware is called "search assistant". Look under "add/remove" programs and you will probably see it.
