I never said I was offering a handout, Ryou. In fact I don't believe in them. What I want is to find some way to help that won't make it seem like charity. Do any of them *want* to change. Change can't happen unless you want it.

Lot of 'em...lot of 'em want to change, but they don't know how. Bein out there changes ya, Yuushi. Hell, I'm one of the few who ain't drug addicted.

Some of 'em got plans. Like...my friend who wants to go back to school, but he can't until he can get untied from his pimp. He don't know what's out there.

And there are groups that tryin to get us off the street-I kept gettin flyers for 'em-but they ain't us. They never been us, and they don't know what we do to survive. Fuck, we got stories. I ain't sayin all of us wanna change, but most of us do.

See, I was thinkin...like maybe, some kind of halfway house. People can't get away from their pimps cause we live with 'em. Maybe get the guy who got me the brain to get a pig or rat or something. Just to get him used to the cutting aspect of dissections. When he's used to that, we'll work on labeling.

He ain't scared of the animal no more, he just nervous bout cuttin. Prolly cause we stress that we ain't got extra animals, and we in college, so they gotta do it right the first time.

I been pullin him over since the Mako dissection to do some work, but he nervous about doin it himself. I'll check with my buddy and see if he can get a rat. They always got bunches. Hell, maybe we can even get him into lab one night when there isn't one scheduled, so he ain't got pressure.

...Ain't nothin happen afterward. Choutarou said that he wanted it for years, and we kissed some more and he say that was his first one. And we walked home cause we missed the train and we wanted to get some more in.
