When bad shit happens to favorite characters

Okay, seriously why is it that my favorite characters always seem to die or suffer horrible fates? I mean, well, okay, not always, not every one of them, but very very often.

This happens to me ALL the time too. I mean hello, my favorite HP character is Severus Snape, probably the biggest woobie in the series aside from Harry himself.

I also seem to have horrible luck with OTPs but that's another story altogether =_=; Is it a curse or something?

I will say that at least in a lot of those cases, the horrible circumstances were part of making the characters even more awesome. Kitaoka would be a lot less interesting if he WASN'T dying of cancer, for instance.

I'm just kind of traumatized from the Gaeta stuff at the moment.

Yeah I agree that it's often for the best character development wise, but it kind of sucks that they have to suffer so horribly for the sake of a good story.

Yeah, it really does. Kind of a paradox, you know? Because it is in fact somethign that makes fans like them MORE.
