well firts i like to install STFU as a translation tool. then i use spikeyshell as a shell cuz its way l337. No windows makeover would complete however without cockandballs to make it more macho.

but honestly my sschy is all i relly need to use a posix-like environment without cgnu issues.

Bill and I are in London, unemployed, with no TV and so have been spending all our free time playing Neverwinter Nights. (well aside from looking for jobs, registering with the university and trying to get out at least once a week)

Gimp or GimpShop.

AF5 Renamer for renaming files

Buzzsaw which will do active defragging
DirMS which you can run before buzzsaw to defrag the whole disk and not just most active files

Faber Toys

Filezilla (FTP Client and Server)

InfranView for a simple fast graphics viewer

TightVNC

Win2VNC or Synergy2 for keyboard mouse sharing

Startup Control Panel for stopping stuff from starting up

Ad-aware and Spybot S&D

Pixie (Get pixel color info)

HTML Kit for html editing and what not

Google Earth (google maps on crack)

SciTE (all around editor, but you'd probably prefer vim)

I've heard good things about Eclipse.

Oh, Google Earth--it's sooo neat.

Google's just getting freaking ridiculous at this point. Someday soon, they'll be making cars, toasters, and canned foods, and it'll all be free. And yeah, that's free as in beer.
