All I can do at this point is simply echo everyone else's praise of these wonderful drabbles. My own favorites are At Seventeen and The Reason, because they reveal facets of Peter and Petunia that make them more sympathetic and less one-dimensional.

Thank you very much. I really do wonder if Petunia would have been nicer to Harry if he had resembled Lily (or neither parent), and if Peter would have craved power less if he'd found better ways of gaining attention and respect.

The "what ifs" are always interesting; or the back stories that Rowling didn't tell because there wasn't room or time, or because they'd impede the forward movement of her plots. I've always wondered what it was like when Lily first got her letter. Did the parents relegate Petunia to the back of the bus, so to speak, initiating Petunia's animosity toward Lily? I wonder what would have happened to Peter had he fallen in love and found a soul mate?

You might want to try FernWithy's story about Petunia and Lily--Summer Strangers. Here's the summary:

Petunia has been looking forward to seeing Lily come home from her
first year at Hogwarts, but the homecoming isn't quite what she expects.
