Good News, and Veilfic Snippet

Finally heard from the DMV:

We have been informed by the court that you have paid your fine, and no suspension is on your license.

YES!

Still working on the next chapter of Pro Bono Publico.

In the meantime, here's part of the story I'm writing for the Veil of Possibilities challenge. The premise is that--as it says on the site--'when Sirius ( Read more... )

Gack! Creepy alt-world. Looks like this is going to be a very interesting story.

Thank you! I'm glad that the alt-world is coming across as creepy. And I'm glad it's shaping up well.

Eeek. That's got to be the scariest AU I've ever seen. Incredibly well-written, but ... eeek.

Also, linking to that Veil of Possibilities challenge is really bad for my health. There is now a plotbunny firmly attached to my leg and nibbling on my ankle. Help?

Alas, I cannot help you. I am being devoured by plotbunnies as I type. Must keep working on both stories...

I have this idea.... Back, back, I say! I keep trying to stuff it back in its biox, but it keeps getting bigger and bigger and it won't go back in!

Excuse me, I need to go commune with my keyboard and word processor.

Glad it's good news from the DMV:-)

Your fic is really intiguing and I'm keen to read more. I like what you're doing with the relationships between the three of them; Lupin, Snape and Black.

Do you need a beta at all? I'd be happy to.

When it is done I will need a beta. Preferably a BRITISH beta, like you. I'm a firm believer in British betas for British fandoms. So I will definitely be taking you up on your incredibly generous offer. And thank you.

There will be more, I promise. I'm trying to finish the second part of the scene now.

I'm glad that you like what I'm doing with the relationships. (Snape, particularly, is great fun to write.)

A very, very convincing alternate universe and a very creepy alternate Sirius (even though we haven't seen him yet). I wondering if the universe's only change was that Sirius was in Slytherin and not Gryffindor and that was why he went crazy, or if perhaps there is something fundamentally different about this universe's Sirius.
Anyway, great story. As with Pro Bono Publico, I can't wait for the rest.

I think that Erotomaniac Sirius is very like the Potterverse universe's. Both Siriuses had families that detested them; neither learned much about love, trust and friendship at an early age. This fits, as erotomaniacs and those suffering from erotomanic delusions tend to come from abusive, emotionally distant families. They tend to be very self-conscious of flaws and imperfections, and they lack self-esteem. The emotionally sterile upbringing creates an atmosphere in which intense fantasies about being loved and having one's life made complete by a superior person are common ( ... )

Sorta like Willow (and others) under Xander's love spell in 'Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered'?

No.

Willow and the others under the spell were simply overwhelmingly attracted to Xander.

Firstly, congratulations on the license news.

And. That snippet. Just grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and won't let go. I love the slow reveal of the information about Snape as a contrast to the speed at which we learn about Sirius. Very creepy, and definitely a world I'd like to see more of.

There will be more. Promise. And I'm glad it's sufficiently creepy.
