What makes it funny and horrifying at the same time is that for the past few days, the American press has been touting Mittens as the GOP intellectual candidate--the one who is the most in touch with ordinary people.

Well, the advantage of electing Burns is that the Simpsons would screw everything up for him by the end of the episode. Elect any actual politician and you get a) a relatively competent moderate that the neocons haaaaaaaaaaaaaate and refuse to work with or b) a rich white idiot who hates anyone not a member of his tribe (women, non-Christians, people of color, LGBT people, the disabled, the elderly, the poor, et cetera, et cetera and so forth).

Given my choice between a cartoon creep who'll be displaced at the end of thirty minutes, four years of temper tantrums by opponents or four years of "I'm going to do everything in my power to hurt people who aren't me!", I'll take the cartoon any day.
