As a note, lj_maintenance has a map showing the IPs of all the computers that have been used in the DDoS attacks. If you want to check and see if your computer has been used as a "zombie bot," go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/, copy your address, and then check it against the list in the sidebar of

It really explains a LOT about behind the scenes stuff and how vital LJ is over in Russia. I've been following this mess in the newspapers and on Facebook for the past week and I didn't know a lot of it.

I think my computer may have been one of those that was hijacked--it went kerfloopey on March 28, just when the first attack started. But it got sent to the shop the next day, and spent a couple of weeks there.
