As you may or may not know, circe_tigana is running a challenge: The Heathen Gods Project. Her goal--882 stories, drabbles, poems, etc., each related to the cursed Aztec gold coins from PotC, written by noon on January 1st

I love all three. Very in tone of the three respective universes, too. Dear Adam, most sensible Antichrist ever. And naturally Desire cheats.*g* Plus with all the wraiths in RotK, a PotC crossover is a given...
Wow. The GO/PotC and Sandman/PotC ficlets are great (I haven't read the RotK one for fear of being spoiled - I haven't seen the movie yet and I'm one of those who hasn't read the book). You must be one of those people who can seamlessly blend universes together. You have no idea how jealous I am. :)
Just got back from seeing RotK and have now read "Ransom for a King." It's excellent. To know the reason why the Witch-King was the head of the Nazgul being that his ring was forged by cursed Aztec gold was great and I think fit perfectly. And the Witch-King was definitly one of the best things about the RotK movie.
This is probably an after-effect of watching RotK twice in two days, but I found myself wondering about the Witch-King's ring after he died. There were his bones, there was his armor...but what the hell happened to the cursed ring that Sauron gave him? It wasn't a patch on the One Ring, but it had to be powerful, just the same; look at what it did to the man who wore it. But I know of no account that tells what became of that ring--not in the movie, not in the book.
And I really didn't want to think of ANOTHER evil ring (even one weaker than the One Ring) floating around Middle-Earth causing havoc. Once was more than enough.
So I allowed for the Witch-King's ring. And then I got rid of it. Silly, but it made me feel better.
*G* And the Tolkien continuity did seem quite good enough - couldn't find a continuity error anywhere in the past events mentioned. Kudos! ;-)
But I have to say I did kinda blink at the idea of gold being so scarce in a realm that the quantity contained in a single coin would be considered a blessing... Eh? *blinkblink* Nothing to do with continuity this one, but still kinda bizarre... :-)
