Okay, interview me. I have no doubt you'll pick interesting questions.

1) What was an aspect of living in Japan that you didn't expect, and how did you feel about it?

2) What's the worst book you've ever read? (Preferably the worst book you've finished, but I'll allow books that are so bad that you couldn't finish them.)

3) You're in luck! You get to go for one trip--just one--in the TARDIS, and you can go to any time in history and to any world. Where (or when) do you go, and why did you pick that particular time or place?

4) What was it about Doctor/Rose that made you want to start writing the pairing?

5) The universe has granted you the power to permanently alter five things about one of your fandoms. What things do you change, and why?

*grins* I didn't run into Luthien and Beren until about seven years ago, when I tried to plow through the Silm for the first time. But I do know what you mean.

TARA ♥♥♥

I've got to run, but I had to say how much I love--and share!--your reasons for loving Tara Maclay.

Hee, Pippi. Oh man, I grew up reading Astrid Lindgren and I love her books so much. When she died, I cried. It was like my childhood had died a little too.

I wish I could give you Norway's welfare, since I believe everyone is entitled to healthcare that looks after you at the very least. But yeah, it does have a price. Thing is, it does have a price - but we're willing to pay it.

There was one book of Astrid Lindgren's that I've heard of but never seen: Ronia, the Robber's Daughter. I think the libraries around here thought that it would corrupt children or something. But I read every other one she wrote, not just the Pippi books ( ... )

Oh, you should definitely read Ronia. It's one of my favourites, and Ronia is kickass. It has an okay movie as well.

The Brothers Lionheart is my definite favourite book, and yeah, I hope in that other world, she is and one day I will hear her stories again.

Re: Norway and attitudes. Well see, Norway comes at it from an entirely different angle to begin with. The US is extremely individual-celebrating and based society. Norway is very society-celebrating and much more built on attitudes of us. To think yourself better than anyone else in Norway... That ain't cool. We're much more about the communal efforts.

Coming at it from that, tax is just another communal effort. We pull together. We can't decide how we're born into the world, but we can try to ensure a fair go for all regardless. *shrugs* We built our country on social democratic values, so it's not so much convincing as it's certain attitudes built into our culture.

I just put Ronia on reserve at the library--apparently it IS available now, though I don't recall it being so when I was a kid.

In addition to the Pippi books, The Brothers Lionheart and Mio, My Son are two of my favorite books by Lindgren.

I think I like Norwegian values better than American ones. Norway has a much saner way of running a society, it seems.

Thanks!

1)Think of one of your favorite books, and then tell me what makes it so special.

2) You have been granted the ability to resurrect one TV show that you feel was undeservedly canceled. However, in bringing it back, you must also change 3 to 5 things about it. What do you bring back, and what do you change?

3) You are standing before three doors. One door will allow you to travel through time. The second door will let you travel to alternate versions of your favorite fictional realities. The third door leads to a crossover of two universes of your choice. You can only pick one door. Which door do you enter, and why?

4) What do you consider your most unique LJ interest and why?

5) What's the best compliment that you've ever received?
