Whee! So glad to see this saga come to an end. I know rough winters, and I know not having central heating (yeah, welcome to Japan--you either use a very expensive electrical heater or haul in a huge-ass kerosene stove and have to air out your apartment every few hours lest ye risk suffocation). Can't imagine going as long as you did without a furnace, though. Ow! Definitely bake those brownies. You've earned some chocolate.

Ouch indeed! Electric heat v. huge kerosene stove sounds like a terrible choice to have to keep making every day.

And the chocolate brownies came out wonderfully well.

It seems to be working beautifully so far. It totally merits the name of Artoo. And the brownies came out perfectly.
