.... Oh, this makes my challenge-lights go on.

I could -so- write an -entire- book, according to their guidelines, and then right at the end reveal that the two main characters are the same gender.

Set in the eighteenth century too, for bonusly insane historical accuracy.

I note that they didn't ban crossdressing. Hm. Admiral Lord Cornberry story, here I come.

Oh, go for it -- they won't take it, of course, but I'm sure there are publishers who would!

It's tempting. I've been wanting to write a good historical fiction for a while, but if what an author told me once is true, eighteenth century (which is my historical period) doesn't sell anyway. *shrugs* I could probably toss off something to send to them just so I could frame the rejection letter.

Um... if the Running Press m/m project takes off, my understanding is their major guideline is pre-WWI. Couldn't hurt to try.

but then they have to go to Hell... which, if Heaven is populated by those dismal guardians of 'morality,' is the only reasonable option.

I'm just running through my books in my head and wondering if any - even if they were male and female and I cut out the sex, would pass - and they really wouldn't.

I can't believe that lips can't be warm!!! Vampires!
