Thank you! I'm enormously flattered.

He really does make some ghastly mistakes, doesn't he?

That was fantastic. Seriously. He really did kind of screw up everything for everyone, didn't he? And we're supposed to see him as a mentor figure. Yes, Dumbledore, let everything happen and then tell Harry why, just as he's recovering from near-death. And then let him risk his life again. At least seven times. Fantastic mentor, really.

I'm still wondering what that "glint of triumph" in Book Four was.

But really, this was great; thank you for writing it. It's about time someone told Dumbledore how much he's screwed up, and made him feel all the guilt for what he's done through neglect.

And, as has been commented, just coming off No Exit, it really is rather Sartre-esque. *grins* I also liked the reference to the despair.com poster...

I will definitely be recommending this to all my HP-reading friends.

I've thought of different theories explaining that "glint of triumph" but all have been Jossed by HBP.

The despair.com poster--and very clever of you to spot that that's what it is!--was supposed to change several times during the fic, but somehow it never did.

It's shocking how badly he's screwed up, and how often. And, as you said, this is the guy we're supposed to admire as Harry's mentor, and whose death we're supposed to mourn. I'm glad that you, like me, feel that he needs to be accountable for his actions.

And thank you very much! I'm delighted that you liked it, and that you're reccing it!

I'm one of the HP-loving friends firstlightofeos mentioned.

So... Wow. Brilliant! Dumbledore did make some astonishingly bad choices. The fic was hilarious and yet quite thought-provoking; well done!

Thank you very much! I'm quite flattered!

Oooh! Good idea! I've joined the Unknowable Room at your suggestion--under the name Gehayi, of course--and I've added a couple of stories. I'll add more as I go along. (There are a number of Cat's Birthday stories that have to be added. Not to mention my Peterfics, the Regulus arc...)

Oh man. I've been trying to explain why I hated Dumbledore since I started reading the damn series. I think that any time anybody asks, I'm just going to email them this story, and it will all make sense. Brilliant.
