Ooooh, Black sisters! Very much enjoyed both of these. Poor poor Regulus.

And I completely agree with not-a-doormat/not-an-idiot Narcissa. It annoys me to no end when fics present her that way.

Oh, me too! I think that Narcissa's the smart one. She's avoided prison (unlike Bellatrix), avoided alienating the family (unlike Andromeda), and has managed to maintain financial control over the Malfoy estate and custody of Draco while convincing the Aurors that her husband may be a Death Eater, but she certainly isn't.

If she ever ran into Machiavelli, I'd feel very sorry for the poor naive man.

And thanks! I'm very glad you enjoyed them!

Can't keep up with you! Miss Speedy fingers! So prolific these days.

I LOVED.... LOVED your Narcissa. It's always amazed me that people (including me) don't appreciate her. She was perfect in this. More patient than Lucius ever is - and yet deeper and more devious than he will ever know.

Lovely

Well, she hasn't had a big role in the books; in fact, she has yet to say a single word in canon.

But I do think that Lucius would pick a woman like himself: beautiful, proud, pureblooded, rich, cunning and devious. Eleanor of Aquitaine to his Henry II, so to speak. I don't see Lucius being sentimental, but I suspect that he and Narcissa have an amicable relationship. They may not always agree, and they may dislike one another's actions from time to time, but fundamentally, they respect each other. (Which doesn't mean that they couldn't conspire against one another as well...)

And I'm so so glad that you loved Narcissa! Thank you!

No, poor Regulus doesn't stand a chance at all. (Which really isn't his fault, poor boy. He's bright enough, and he knows what he wants. He's just a terribly young fifteen--and no match whatsoever for his brilliant and Machiavellian older cousin.)

And I love "Rappaccini's Daughter" too. Always have, ever since I was fourteen.

*loving the new, prolific Gehayi!*

Thank you! And I've surpassed my goal of 5K for the April Fool's challenge! Adding up all the stories in my LJ (and the parody song as well) since April 1, and counting the half-finished poetry challenge story I'm working on now, I've written 7,096 words since the first of April. Nothing near as prolific as you've been, but still--yay!

Well, it just makes sense. After all, Hawthorne's great-grandfather or some such was the judge at the Salem Witchcraft Trials, and doesn't it make more sense for the REAL witches to be on the bench, rather than being helpless and on trial?

And thank you. I don't think I'd like Narcissa much, but she's a fascinating character.
