glee_fluff_meme . This is unbeta'd/self-proofed, so any mistakes, please feel free to point them out so I can fix it. Um, takes place like a year after the first season? Baby Fabray is like a year old at this point for reference. This is also my first time writing fanfic in like, over a year, so forgive me and please be gentle.
"Will you sit still," says Lily Humphrey to her daughter Serena van der Woodsen.
"Sorry," mumbles Serena, stopping her leg shaking. The younger blonde shoots a look to her brother Eric who smirks at her from behind his magazine. "What times does her flight get in again?"
"Nine-something," their step-sister Jenny answers from her seat next to Eric. "How come we've never met your cousin until now?"
"Brittany is a cheerleader," Serena says. "And apparently their team is really good so they're always competing and stuff. She was supposed to come during winter break for Eric's birthday but that snowstorm messed everything up. You'll like her though, Jen. She's a sweetheart."
"Who's a sweetheart?" asks Dan Humphrey. He and his dad Rufus rejoin their little family, carrying trays of coffee for the others.
Eric is the one who answers him. "Brittany. Jenny just asked why you've never met her before today."
"Ad," Dan says, handing out the cups of liquid crack. "Well, if she's a sweetheart, we'll have to keep her away from Blair." He laughs when Serena reaches over and whacks his arm. "I'm kidding!"
It's not until a disembodied voice announces that the flight from Ohio has arrived that Lily notices one of their family members is missing.
"Where's Charles?" she asks. "I thought he was going to be here."
Eric snaps his fingers. "Oh! He texted me saying he got caught up at the office. He's just going to meet us back at the Palace."
Lily nods and checks the throngs of people for any sign of her niece.

Santana flinches when Brittany squeals just a little too loudly and grabs her arm hard enought to bruise. And when the blonde pulls, she can do nothing more than grab their carryons and haul them along. Her equilibrium is thrown off even more when Brittany lets go of her suddenly and runs toward someone she can't see as a group of really tall people walks in front of her.
Panic flares through the Latina's body which is snuffed out quickly when Brittany comes back, taking her hand and bringing her over to whom Santana assumes is her family. Santana blinks. They look richer than she expects but it makes sense to her, considering the first class tickets.
"This is Santana," Brittany says to her family.
The eldest of the blond women extends her hand out to Santana, which she accepts.
"Lily Humphrey," says the woman. "But, please, call me Lily. It's so nice to finally meet Brittany's best friend."
One of the younger blondes laughs. "Britt talks about you all the time when she visits." She's the next to introduce herself. "I'm Serena."
Serena then motions to the others around her. "This is our family. That's Rufus, Eric, Jenny, and Dan."
Santana waves to each person as they're being introduced, trying to put their faces to memory. It's easier said than done though since Brittany's got a hand on the small of her back, drawing nonsensical patterns there. Whatever. She's got two weeks to learn their names.
The scruffy looking man who reminds Santana of a dog ("His name is Rufus," Brittany will tell her later) claps his hands together once.
"I assume you're both ready to get out of this airport," he says. "How about we head home so you can freshen up before Serena here drags you off to do whatever she has planned for you?"
Brittany nods, answering for the both of them. Santana shoulders her carry-on bag and grabs the handle of Brittany's, scowling when on of the boys (Dan, she thinks) offers to help.
"I got it," she growls. There's a tiny rush of satisfaction when Dan backs away. She's six hundred miles away from home and she can still intimidate people with her scowl.
"Stop it," Brittany tells her without actually seeing what the Latina is doing. She's developed a sixth sense when it comes to Santana and knows what facial expressions and moods the other girl is doing and is feeling without having to look at her. "You're scaring him. Be nice."
"I am being nice," Santana whispers back, grinning at the blonde. "I'm carrying your bag for you."
Brittany rolls her eyes.
Behind them, Dan hangs back to walk with Eric and Jenny.
"That is one scary girl," he says.
"Maybe she's a feminist?" says Jenny with a shrug.
Eric is on Dan's side. "I don't think that's it. She scares me a bit too. And that's saying something seeing as how Blair Waldorf is Serena's best friend."
"And don't forget who your mother and grandmother are," Dan adds.

Chuck Bass stares at the girl glaring at him, eyebrow raised, a smirk on his face.
"What?" demands Santana.
Chuck shakes his head. "Nothing," he says. "I just pictured Brittany's best friend to be..."
"Blond?" Santana offers, thinking of Quinn, who she hasn't called yet. She's still glaring.
"Less challenging looking," finishes Chuck.
Santana crosses her arms over her chest. "And what's that supposed to mean?"
"It means that these next two weeks are going to be fun."
Santana's glare worsens. She doesn't even know this guy's name and she's already decided she doesn't like him. Then again, she's Santana and she doesn't like most people upon their first meeting. That's just how she is.
"Wonderful," she says dryly, wanting nothing more than to get back to the room she's sharing with Brittany.
Chuck looks like he's going to speak again when a blonde comes poking her head around a corner. It's Serena, which disappoints Santana. At least it's no Brittany, if it was and Chuck tried to hit on her, Santana would have broken one of her parents' rules.
"There you are!" Serena says, smiling in a way that proves she and Brittany are related. Her smile fades a bit when she sees Santana's company. "I see you've meet my adoptive brother Chuck. Chuck, this is Santana, Brittany's friend."
"Oh, you're adopted," Santana says, raising an eyebrow at Chuck. "I see."
"I told you these next two weeks are going to be interesting," he says, smiling, but since it's Chuck, it looks like he's smirking.
Santana rolls her eyes, turning to Serena.
"What's up?"
Serena points in the direction she just came from. "B's looking for you. Your friend Quinn, I think, is on the phone."
"Crap," Santana mumbles under her breath. "Yeah. We were supposed to call her when we landed."
She shoots Chuck one last look before going back to her room.
Serena rounds on Chuck when the Latina is out of earshot.
"Listen, Chuck," she says. "I know that look on your face. I don't like that look on your face. Whatever you have planned in that head of yours, knock it off. She's Brittany's best friend and that means she is off limits. So leave her alone, got it?"
"I going to fix myself a drink," says Chuck. "Would you like one as well?" He starts to walk away.
Serena grabs his arm. "I'm serious, Chuck. Back off." She sighs when Chuck says nothing, shrugging out of her grasp and leaving her alone in the hallway.
