Life as a ghost (or whatever he was now exactly) wasn’t halfway bad if one forgot about the physical impossibility to inhale the herb when not inhaling at all.

This line was worth the price of admission. =)

And you've just solved the biggest mystery of Season 1! So that's what happened to him.

I loved the way he was just so accepting of it, and how the only thing he missed was being able to inhale, and the way he haunted Sketchy just for fun. Very cute.

Thank you for not writing it in herbal speak, as there is no way I would have been able to understand it and better than I can understand Herbal himself. :P

It was then that he realized that Jah had taken his prayers about taking him to a more spiritual, ethereal level a bit too literal.

Best Herbal voice ever. I just love how he takes the whole thing in stride and makes the best of it. So perfectly in character.

I just knew the bike would go through Herbal, and your description of his watching its "backlight smoothly swiveling through his belly" was niftily played. Actually, you had a great tone through all this, that amusing, wry sound I just love, especially in DA.

As much as I hate to think Herbal was gone because he's gone, I'm glad he's having such a good time.

Great story! And wonderful to get an explanation for Herbal's mystic disappearance. ;-) And I liked the way Herbal accepted his fate, without being too concerned about the fact that he'd ended as JP house ghost. :-)

My favorite part:

--.... When he got bored he could always give in to his new hobby of driving Normal crazy, magically dissolving some favorite pieces from his meticulous stamp collection or use his new mental powers to confuse those creepy black helicopter guys showing too much interest in Max.
