Who thinks I should start watching this weird, mysterious, totally unknown show called Battlestar Gallactica?

If it helps, I'm a big Stargate and Farscape fan, though never got into Star Trek or any other spacey sci-fi shows. The only real question I have is: is it ever funny? I love very dramatic sci-fi, but I can't get through a whole series

First I'd like to say WHY IS WATCHING BSG EVEN A QUESTION?????? YOU MUST! YOU MUST! YOU MUST!!!!!!

Second, it's the best telly out there right now. It's srs bsns telly, with an incredible universe built around it. You really have to think when you watch it which is fantastic. It's funny...sometimes. But like I said, the characters are so GUH that you're just with them all the time. THEY WEAR UNIFORMS! It's just aljhkaVBLJHvflhVF.

I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, actually, I can't stand the genre but... a few friends of mine really love this show. So, they've forced me to watch a few episodes and it's actually pretty good. It's snarky, it's filled with real-world-esque politics (and it's actually REALLY well done, says the poli sci major), and the boys are hot (!).

I'm going to borrow the dvds from friends over the summer and try the series out...

I kinda wish I'd taken the initiative and started watching earlier on my Summer break. I'll be heading to uni in about a month so I'm guessing I'll do my usual "find an obsession as soon as I really need to start working" thing. I guess at least it won't be at exam time.

I recently watched all episodes of battlestar galactica. The best thing is, you won't have long waits for the next installment, and you know it has a foreseeable end.
There are not many laughs, but it is occasionally entertaining.
The people are REALLY REALLY hot. All of them. (well, almost all). see towel pictures above. hehe.
you could always try the miniseries, and if you don't like it, don't continue?
The special effects are really good. So good, I forget they're not actually in spaceships :)

I like really really hot. I'm in the middle of downloading the miniseries at the moment, so I'll see how it goes. I've seen shots of the show with pretty people in spaceships. Looks eerily realistic.
