Drabble: 'Encomium' (J/E - PG13) ~and~ Belated Birthday Wishes

Jul 02, 2011 08:59

Holy Cats, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. Or month. Or two months. Thank goodness for three day weekends to play catch-up.

Woke up with this in my head (is the Muse finally speaking again?) and am presenting it as a small belated birthday offering to my dear piratey friends, ladymouse2 and florencia7, many happy returns to two of my favorite people!

A hundred words for the 'Disaster' drabble challenge... )

Oh, you do cause such riotous delight in my heart, creating pictures of private times with such intrigue. Damn, what a lovely piece, sounds just like our bad boy, assuming a certain amount of pride in having created such a pleasurable disaster. Ta, miz gma2, hugs.

Thank you so much! You know how these things go, flashing upon one like a vision. Seemed very strange as I thought the Muse was comatose there for a while. Ah, Saturday mornings!

Simply perfect! Sometimes a drabble can express a moment or an emotion more than a longer fic. Beautifully done.

Thank you so much! I have to agree that one can say an awful lot within that 100 word structure.

Roughened fingers caught in her hair, tenderly brushing it from her cheek. "Fair disaster." A just endearment, perhaps, but she murmured, "I might say the same of you," and kissed him again.

Quoting that whole bit, because I love it so much, but what comes before it is beautifully worded too :-) And you're writing again, yay!

You're there! Gosh, it's been just nuts the last two weeks at work, too exhausted to think when I get home. Should be slowing down some now, though, thank goodness. I'm so glad you liked this, and a little surprise for you, too, as I was pressed for time and thought I'd just take a chance and post it unbetaed. Have to zoom to the store and then we're off to a lawn ornament exchange party, lol! And grandson, daughter and two of her friends coming to swim this afternoon. More summer fun! I hope all is well with you, too. *hugs*

I'm here! So sorry I haven't replied to your e-mail yet, it's been a busy week for me too. Good to hear things are slowing down for you, though, and I hope you had a great time both at the party and later. *hugs back*
