Just one word: HOT! Even though you didn't really get into detail, the whole scenario is just amazingly sexy. And it thrills me to picture Jack on the back of a beautiful Barbary horse, galloping through the desert.
To quote Elizabeth: "More, and more, and -" Please?
Oh, and I forgot: The linguist in me was wondering which language Jack is fluent in. Arabic or Amazigh (Berber)? (really liked that, btw)
I see Jack as having a facility for learning various languages, so it could be either or both. I was pretty crazy about Arabian Nights and galloping Barbary horses, etc. as a kid and my love seems not to have diminished with time, though of course it's the fairy tale version of the reality. But I'm listening to O'Brien's Treason's Harbor right now, too, and all the deserty bits are so wonderful.
Very glad you enjoyed the hotness, there is more to come, along with the adventure. Thank you very much for commenting!!
Elizabeth sniffed. “I’m insulted you feel the need to ask.”
He bowed. “Apologies, your nibs, I was forgetting myself.”
She said, with facetious hauteur, “Apology accepted. Henceforth, see that you remember, Jack Sparrow.”
“It’s captain, you cheeky lass. I mean… as you wish, my liege.”
What a marvelous exchange! I love it. It's also interesting to watch Elizabeth basically put herself in Jack's hands, while retaining her spirit.
And you manage quite neatly to be sexy without being terribly specific. Keeps the tension up even though the characters have released it. ;)
It seems to me that being the captain of the Flying Dutchman would necessarily change you. I like the detail you give here of Will's other-worldliness.
Can't keep Elizabeth's spirit down for long, she's like Jack in that, I think. And I agree that Will is rather more than human now, except for that one day every ten years (and maybe even then, speculation is rife). Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I'm glad you're enjoying it.
I did love the new movie, and even like the Jack/Angelica bits, but they don't do it for me the way J/E does, and always did. Chemistry is a strange thing, isn't it? I'm so happy to know you're enjoying this! Thank you very much for commenting.
I adore J/E fic that doesn't completely ignore Will, so this is just delicious. Why yes, I'll take a side of Will/Elizabeth and Jack/Will with my J/E thanks very much!
Jack and Elizabeth's banter in this chapter is spot on and adorable. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Me too. I don't think one can leave Will out of the equation -- which is one of the wonderful things about the first three movies, that initially wary camaraderie that grows into true friendship and even love.
So happy you're enjoying the story! More tomorrow morning. Thank you very much for commenting!
Thank you! I was thinking that my stories are almost summaries of adventures, compared to the gorgeous jewelbox splendors of yours. I'm always relieved when mine work as well as they do, in spite of zooming along at such a pace. Thank you so much for letting me know you're enjoying. More in the morning!
