"My father, and yours... Aren't you going to tell me it'll be all right?"
He met her eyes. "It will. I hope. In the end."
Hmmm. I can guess at Jack and James' facial expressions.
"I must always wish you joy, of course. Though I may thrash that boy anyway, when this is all over."
Who can blame Norrington? He must have been sick with anxiety!
"So that is the famous Captain Sparrow! Dear me. He is as handsome as they say."
Typical reaction, I'll bet.
An admirably timely intervention on the part of the stricken merchant ship (hence the chapter title), but there's still certain folks ashore to deal with...
Well, was a whopper of a deux!! And well worth the excitement! What a grand tale and it's a good goshdarn thing that Anne spoke up when she did--cos really, was looking a bit grim there with the damp clothes and obvious confrontation on Tom's face...amazing what Captain Sparrow was observing upon the meeting.
"Captain Sparrow suddenly grinned at his son. “She’s a sweet little craft, ain’t she? How’d she do in that storm?” If I ever imagined that you loved him, if I ever imagined you could make his voice live for me...this one bit did it! It lacked flashing neon to say awwwww, but that was all. Good words, miz gma2, just good enough to eat!
Well, it would have to be in order to distract them from murdering Tom; but as captain and admiral they are long accustomed to sticking to "first things first".
I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter! Thank you for reading and for the lovely comments.

Who indeed? But he's been acquainted with the Sparrows for a long time now, and is fully cognizant of that pirate/good man thing.

Amen! Sometimes life is like that, though. It could happen.

Yes, it certainly gave the dads some time to cool down, and a chance for Tom to remind them of his better side.
