I noticed that! I was knitting part of the bag in a workshop class and when I showed someone the pattern they went "That's awesome, but why the hypodermic." When I said "because Sherlock's a cocaine addict," *half the class* almost died of shock.

This is a writing workshop full of masters students, some of whom teach high school English. Somehow, it just slipped by them.

Very cool purse and pattern. Thanks for showing most of the steps. My sewing skills are not as advanced as yours, but I may try something. One quick note: Apparently, according to my father, he wasn't addicted. He just did cocaine when he wasn't taking a case. But I still like the reference!
