Those look Good Enough to Eat! ;) And lots of fun. I take it the ships are a cake pan you have. My daughter has a ton of Wilson cake pans. They make things so much easier. But using them to create something so much more, is where the real genius lies. Nope, I don't have it, but the daughter does. Your type never ceases to amaze me with what you can do.
They're fun to make, but it's a big job to get them all done! The pan is a modified bundt from NordicWare. The Wilton ones were all too 2D & a bit flimsy for what I wanted to do. Don't feel too bad...My parents are still baffled as to where my artistic panache came from. ;-)
Very cool stuff. It's a work of art, so I don't know that I would want to eat it. Also, I love the ARRRRmada part (by the way, did you mean the black one was dARRRRRk chocolate?).
You said all but the masts & sails were edible - were the gold coins chocolate?
DaRRRRRk chocolate, indeed! The coins were Geld, so mostly edible, anyway. Honestly, I was so exhausted (read: nearly falling over from low blood sugar) by the time I finished the island display that I'd all but forgotten the coins were even there.
Amazingly, the whole island--except the volcano which was gifted to someone--was gone by the end of the night!

Now where did I put that tally book?
P.S. I think the technical term is "animated gif icon," but whatever works.
