Long story short: My family has had a rocky road since December, for a lot of reasons. I know all of us here have had economic problems, so rather than putzing around in depression, my stepfather decided to do something crafty to make money ( Read more... )

Actually, he just made a gorgeous one yesterday, just needs to make it a bit bigger around to match.

We've been trying to get him to work bigger, since the model he's been using is my mother, who's a tiny thing. He's decided to use myself and some of mom's friends now, too, since we're more average-sized (and in my case, bigger than average).

If I could afford a $100+ leather bodice, I totally would...might be a bit of an engineering challenge, though. Do you think he could make something for a 38G that would stay up and not collapse?

I like the steampunk bodice- looks like something Victorian Wonder Woman would wear (with a demurely long skirt, of course) ;-)

Ooh! I'll have to pass that onto him, he may design a costume set around that. Good idea! :D

Heh, we've been nudging him a little toward that. I'll have to let him know he's got some more votes for D-size. ;D

They are gorgeous.
In the pink bodice set, there are 2 pics where the model looks like a younger Laura Roslin from BSG. That'd be an interesting mashup, steam punk battlestar gallactica.

You're right! I'll have to let her know, she'd be tickled by that. :D

In fact, she and I (she's my momma, btw) are working on normal and steampunk cosplays of Captain Janeway and Seven of Nine of Star Trek, so pulling off BSG wouldn't be too much of a stretch for future costumes. :)
