There is absolutely nothing at all wrong with formenting plans to fly literally across the country just to see Crowded House and DeVotchKa, right?

Right?

(C'mon, it's Crowded House! How often do you get to see them these days?)

(Does it help if I add "and Wu-Tang Clan, and Yungchen Lhamo"?)

travel, music, bumbershoot

That is, in fact, where Bumbershoot tends to be, pretty much 100% of the time. =)

If I'm going to fly across the country to see Crowded House (which I am completely prepared to do), I'd rather add in another band or six I'd also like to see rather than hitting up just the Saratoga dates. On the other hand, fewer other people at Saratoga, I'm guessing.

No, nothing wrong with that - and adding Gogol Bordello would help. Also you get bonus points just for having any Hunters & Collectors music.

Y'know, I really want to like Gogol Bordello more than I do, but mostly I just think they're okay. I much prefer DeVotchKa. Amusingly, another friend pointed out that I *could* see Crowded House in Saratoga, but if I go to Seattle then I also get Gogol Bordello. ;)

"Throw Your Arms Around Me" is one of my favorite songs. I did manage to find one of their discs in my used CD store scouring, but never again since.

There's nothing wrong with that ... it's pretty tempting!

It's not being made easier by the fact that I just got all my wrongly-expired US Air miles restored to me, so I have more than enough for free airfare. =)
