Book recommendations?

I've got a reasonably large TBR pile going on right now, but that's never stopped me from wanting to add to it. What have you read this year that you think I absolutely need to add to that stack? There's a recent, fairly massive biography of Theodore Roosevelt that's quite good. It's an interesting look into the times when he was the biggest conservationist ever, and just assumed that part of conserving a species was to shoot and stuff as many examples of it as possible.

The two I've enjoyed recently are "The Forger's Spell" (about the greatest art hoax of the 20th century and why hoaxes work more generally), and "The Secret Life of Words." I am sitting at Starbucks and cannot remember who wrote either of them.
