A fox would be a fun pet in theory but I don't know how domesticated they can be... >_>
Interesting point about chickens. I don't think they are a well spread animal in Japan either so I'm confused about their prevalence. Although I suppose it's pretty easy to program a white blob with a head and no legs to move in a random pattern in a certain area. That may be the reason for their success more then anything else. XD
I got the pet fox idea from a special on animal planet. :3 It can be done but apparently 1) they smell pretty bad and 2) It's not suggested or encouraged.
O_o if you think about it, it is like inviting a small wolf into your house. I mean not really, but aleast most dog breeds have the "wildness"/scary survival instinct/I'll bite you're hand off reaction bred out of them.
And that's a good point about the chickens. I hadn't thought about that. It would be easier to program chickens than cows. Perhaps even pigs. Besides, who would kick a pig?

My friends would come over and be like "Hey girl, what have you been doing?"
My response? "Not much. Just breaking crates and chasing chickens with my fox."

Final Fantasy has chocobos, Zelda has cuckoos, and Fable has real chickens. Ironically you can kick all but the chocobos.
