I have reread this story several times now and I finally figured out my favourite part: John Winchester. I have met several Johns and I had always hoped that one day they would realise what they had done to their kids.

Anyway, I still absolutely love the story. It inspired me to reread the other drug story where Sam is the addict, Cas is a surgent and Dean is a Social Worker. Thank you for sharing once again :-)

I'm glad you like my John here. That part of the story was based on a dear friend of mines actual experience with his drug abusing father. Right up and including the scene in the hospital. Watching him talk about it a decade later was a powerful experience and I wanted to share it. I'm not sure if it's ever too late to set your children free.

I'm so glad you like this story. I've read that one too and found it to be really wonderful. It's a great read.

Thank you so much for your powerful comments. Addiction is an issue that strikes at the heart of everyone involved in the process. It's causes deep wounds that we might learn to live with but they don't go away very easily.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm very glad that this touched you. I wish you the best in everything.
