This sounds primarily like an allergy. I would check with a doctor about that, first, or try taking Aleve.

The rest should clear with the treatment of the allergy.

I'm guessing a ruptured eardrum from what you describe. I've had that a number of times - I had frequent ear infections as a child. I'd see the doctor. The eardrum just has to heal on its own, but you want treatment for the infection.

So it turns out my sinus infection which is what I had, turned into an ear infection with the blockage letting bacteria climb their way up and attack my ear!

So I'm now equipped with Antibiotic weaponry!

Sounds similar to what I've been fighting off and on I've had 2 rounds of antibiotics with minimal effectiveness and pretty much lost my voice entirely x 2. My MD thinks it is severe allergies which lead to ear infection/sinus infections. I went to an allergist and am trying to de-dustify my house. (which they say will help) in the mean time you feel better and I hope the antibiotics kick it. but if they don't or it returns I recommend looking into possible cause being prolonged exposure to an allergen. or just start taking some anti-histamines. (assuming it comes back)

Have you tried the Neti pot? I have a lifelong history of sinus trouble, and it really made a difference for me.

A co-worker suggested that. However I have a real phobia of water in my face especially near my nose. (I was 15 before I could put my head under shower water). needless to say putting my head over steamy water purposefully would probably cause me a panic attack. However I know many people who swear by the.
