Hi, Just getting back to my LJ after almost a year... was searching for like-minded leatherfolk and came across your journal and would love to link to you as a friend. I'm working on updating my LJ info page, but you can check out my profile on World Leather Men:

I'll look forward to hearing from you.

I'm thinking I'd like to assemble a convincing cop/police officer outfit. Something that I can use for:
Halloween
Uniform themed bar events
Mark's and my personal enjoyment

I'd like it to look fairly realistic.
I'd also very much like to not break any laws by wearing it (I'm unsure about where the line is there).
I'm willing to spend some cash on it but I don't want to take out a morgage on my non-existent house for it either.

I'd like to do the short sleeved dark blue cop outfit.

I'm putting out a call to any of you who can give me pointers, lists and suggestions on putting together such an outfit, from head to toe.

I've checked out uniform supply sites but I'm not certain what I should be sizing up to buy.

You can try http://www.qmuniforms.com/ for uniforms. You can usually get somewhat realistic looking badges at a surplus store. The patches? You might have to run an internet search for.

As for keeping within the law? Keep the patches covered and as much of the uniform covered as possible.
