Could it be one more hint to allow to think that they are going to be free for new long projects soon?
Glad for Tom, even though I'm not a great fan of Starz series.

Yeah, eight episodes is a rather big project, nothing you've finished filming with 2 weeks. On the other hand US productions tend to work a bit faster than UK productions and Percival isn't a main character on Merlin.

Anyway, I'm super excited for Tom (and really happy that his character seems to survive and not die in the first epsiode...). ♥

Haha, Starz' Camelot wasn't the most successful endeavour but hey, they have money and this could be a good project. It has PIRRRRRRRRRATES! :D

"(and really happy that his character seems to survive and not die in the first episode...)" => I agree, it makes a big difference :D

"Starz' Camelot wasn't the most successful endeavour" => It was pretty bad wasn't it?

Starz is filming 'Da Vinci's Demons' in Swansea at the moment, we'll see the result, but looking at the synopsis, I've got some doubts about the fact that they have chosen a different path than the one they took for Camelot. I really hope I'm wrong.

But anyway, it's looking good for Tom, that's the main point.

It wasn't bad per se, I liked quite a few things about their take on the legends. My main problem was their Arthur and Guinevere. They didn't work for me as a couple (their storyline was way more forced than A/G on Merlin) and I didn't like them on their own either (and not because their Arthur was not Bradley, the actor was probably ok but I didn't like how they wrote the character).

I thought Merlin was interesting, same goes for Morgan (to a certain extend), but overall it wasn't really my cup of tea and I never watched the last four episodes. I think the show had all the proper ingredients (legends/pretty people/fights/sex, though I could do with less nipples, why do people get riled up about them and why does Starz have to show nipples at least thrice every episode?), just the mix wasn't right.

I think it sounds like an interesting project and I'm excited to see Tom in a different role (that reminds me of my friend who watched 'Good Cop' the other day and was like "did you know that Tom Hopper can talk?" :P).

I do hope the same. I wouldn't be surprised to find other news like that one about the other actors very soon.

Oh, how nice!!!
And love a "pirates" tv-show... I'd say that's quite original!

Also, why am I expecting lots of steamy scenes in this show? XD

I would expect a few shirtless (or at least sleeveless) scenes from a Starz show. NOMNOM

lol Starz and Michael Bay. What a combination.

Good on Tom, though. I don't really have any hope that Merlin isn't going to end after this series, but hey, he could film between now and the next series of Merlin...right?

Right? =(

IMO he could because Percival - like the other Knights - hasn't been a main character in the past (and I don't think that'll change significantly in S5) and they could always 'arrange' for him not to be in an episode or adapt his filming schedule.

Still, I don't have much hope. :(

::wibble::

Well that certainly seems like the proverbial nail. :(

But that's fantastic for Tom and I'm glad we'll have opportunities to see him and the rest of our amazing cast to look forward to soon.

Maybe one more ::wibble::.
