There were so many A/M scenes in S3 that felt out of tone for the show in general and the characters in particular, I'd rather kept this one nice scene than enduring 284 scenes of Arthur throwing stuff at Merlin or calling him an idiot in all the other episodes...

it was odd for him to say something so intimate in front of all the Knights. Even Colin seems almost off with his dialogue.

Yeah, I thought so too actually. It was a nice scene but it felt out of place, a bit awkward and even Colin couldn't quite make it work. It was a scene that needed a rewrite.

I wish they'd kept in the Uther and Morgana scene which made it clear he knew about her magic and was almost suicidal.
