So far this hasn't been confirmed by BBC officials, but it looks like The Musketeers - and therefore Santiago - will be around for a second series of swashbuckling adventures in PragueFrance! :DDD
I hope it's true. This is actually a fun show. And I agree, sooo much better than that OTHER show (I don't even understand what the overall POINT of that other show is). There doesn't seem to be alot of talk about Musketeers, so I think alot of folks haven't found this show yet.
Isn't the new Doctor playing the Cardinal in Musketeers, too? How does that work? I guess if you only film 10-13 episodes you've got alot of extra time, but the Doctor is kind of a high profile thing.
I think Capaldi's unavailablility (to a certain degree) for a second series is something they definitely have to worry about a bit. On the other hand he's not in every scene and he won't be filming on Doctor Who for the entirety of the Musketeers filming period. I hope they can figure something out, I'd love to see him on the second series.
The show's great fun. Love the banter-y dialogue's, the dashing men (who were all allowed to keep their chest hair, thank you, Auntie Beeb \0/) and the adventures. I'm also madly in love with all their interior/exterior sets. It's the kind of entertainment I'm looking for in a Saturday/Sunday night show made by BBC the kind of entertainment that other show wasn't able to provide for me.
I quite like that show, it's ideal for Sunday evenings. I've found that the last episode was the best of the series so far. There was a real improvement in the characterisation and in the plot.
The acting is good, and it's well filmed.
I'm slightly annoyed by the settings, they are beautiful but they don't look French at all, we don't have that kind of architecture. It's quite funny to hear the actors struggling with some of the names (Athos and Porthos for example, they should ignore the 'h'). It was good to listen to Santiago speaking a few words in Spanish in the last episode.
But the most important point is that the show is entertaining.
I'm still all over Teen Wolf but I enjoy watching The Musketeers immensely. :D Can't wait to see one of my favourite actors JJ Feild (Tom Hiddleston's long lost twin brother) as Marsac next episode! \0/
