Oh my goodness, I love this. It makes a rather fitting accompaniment to my own fic too - late nights vs early mornings. :) I love the way you've captured both of them here: it all feels so real. Props for using the Gotham Times article! All the backstory is wonderful, too.
This was the perfect thing to read on a Sunday morning. Thank you so much!
This bit made me feel particularly fuzzy inside:
Finishing his tea and turning to rinse out his cup, Alfred reflected that there was nothing quite as alluring as a supple, voluptuous brain. His hand trembled a tiny bit as he reached for the towel.
So glad you liked it! It was really fun finally writing an Alfred/Lucius story . . . I may even have to follow up. I enjoyed doing a 'first time' look at the two.
(And I think you're the first LJ friend I've met from Finland!)
Thanks for your comment. I've wanted to explore this idea since I was researching a really complex Dark Knight tale I wrote last summer. I got obsessed with the complicated backstory Warner Bros. built.
As they wrapped themselves up against the bitter Gotham winter, donning heavy coats, covering their hands with lined, leather gloves and winding long, woolen scarves around their exposed throats, they paused long enough to look at one another pointedly, this time breaking out in laughter. i love this, I can see it.
And yet i am a bad shipper because the things i love the most are not A/L per-se. In my head they are sort of surrogated daddies to Bruce from time to time and here you fullfilled my view: ...to lie him down on top of the coverlet and stand side-by-side with the more experienced manservant as they carefully undressed the unconscious young billionaire;...me, seeing this as sweet not kinky (the case might be done...)
The story about Thomas Wayne, I'm begginning to *heart* him.
Thank you so much for writting this, I love it when I get to hear Lucius and Alfred speak.
Hello, my dear! Great to hear from you, as always. I'm glad you enjoyed my first-ever Alfred/Lucius. I really wanted to investigate the idea of a 'first time' attraction between the two, as opposed to an established relationship.
(And, of course, the surrogate daddy thing is a bit appealing to me, because the ACTUAL Daddy thing is becoming an obsession. For the past weeks I've become more and more interested in Thomas Wayne and finding a way to bring him back. I COULD NOT leave him out of this story, even though Charlie argued with me a bit about it.)
As ever, thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. It's always appreciated. (And thank you for steering me to this nice little community in the first place.)

I was so wrong! Of course, I'm anxious to read more fic featuring TW, so bring it on...
