Comments: Weee~. I need a break from current projects so this is what came to me while talking to a certain person. He doesn’t even know of Gazette’s existance but Alex, this is for you.
As for the flight ... I had to guess the time, but since it’s about eleven hours from Tokyo to my place and another three to four to Ruki’s destination it should be okay.
There are rational decisions and irrational ones just as there are rational people and others who are not, Ruki definitely belonging to the latter variety.
Perhaps this was the reason why he found himself at the airport at five in the morning with only a backpack to keep him company; that and the two girls in front of him in the queue, who kept stealing glances at him giggling.
So he was good looking after all since he thought it quite impossible that anyone might recognise him without make-up and stage-clothes; this made him smile a little and only a little, considering what he was about to do.
Due to the early hour and it being a Sunday not too many people beside himself and the two girls were waiting in front of the information desk so it was his turn to talk to the overly happy and chirping stewardess (or whatever she was) quite soon.
“How may I help you, sir?“
Tell me to go back and don’t sell me a fucking ticket ...
“Ummm ... what’s your earliest flight out of the country and where does it go to?“
The woman giggled a little at this odd request, exposing slightly crooked teeth, which Ruki found extremely cute and he smiled back at her warmly.
“Let me check ... ah, we have one flight to New York.“ Ruki’s face lit up considerably. “But that will go in three minutes.“ She kept punching the keys on her laptop until she found what she had been looking for. “We have one going to Brindisi in Italy in,“ she quickly checked her watch, “fifteen minutes. You can still catch it if you indeed wish to go, sir.“
“Yes, that’s just fine. Can I have the ticket now, please?“
The woman nodded and quickly printed it. “If you have a credit card we can do a quick check-in. No need to wait in another queue.“ She smiled at him warmly and he couldn’t help but mirror it.
He took the small plastic card from his wallet, handing it over to her, and watched as she went about carrying out the necessary tasks with the routine of someone who did nothing but this day after day.
Ruki briefly wondered if she liked her job but then handed his luggage over as requested.
He watched his backpack vanishing and felt sad, irrationally so.
“Please go to gate 1-B now, sir. I already contacted the crew and they’ll be waiting for you but you really have to hurry. Have a nice flight and sir?“
He snapped out of the trance he had been in for minutes obviously and turned towards the pretty girl with the crooked teeth. “I hope you’ll find what you’re looking for.“
The moment when a plane takes off can cause as many different sensations as there are people. If you’ve never experienced it yourself you wouldn’t understand so there is no need in trying to explain.
For Ruki it was a tingling feeling in the lower half of his tummy, mixed with the lightheadedness of a first smoke in a deserted alley with your best friend when you’re fourteen.
He smiled softly at his own description of what he was feeling at the moment only too aware of the consequences this sensation would surely bring.
Not that he cared at the moment, no, he really didn’t care at all and even if he did it was too late to turn back now anyway.
The plane was moving upwards in a graceful movement, making the houses beneath shrink in proportion to the almost impossible heights to which they were rising and as the plane was rising so did the sun.
“Morning, sunshine!“ Reita tickled his sleepy lover playfully, which earned him a groan and muffled curse from under Uruha’s long blonde hair.
“Can’t you just go and leave me be?“
“Awww, Ruru’s whinyyy.“
The blonde grumbled and kept cursing for a while but eventually resurfaced from under the blankets they had been sleeping in throughout the night, a thought that still excited Reita more than he cared to admit.
Something about sleeping with someone (not necessarily anything sexual involved) was so ... intimate.
There was a certain trust involved to let your guard down in front of someone else like this and he was more than happy to share this with Uruha, no matter how bitchy the other could get in the mornings.
“Did you just call me whiny?“ he inquired, but couldn’t stifle a yawn and the masc of threatening behaviour was beyond ruined.
“Hey, I’m not complaining. You’re sexy when you’re whiny,“ Reita chuckled.
Uruha stretched in this feline like way that only he managed to pull off without looking like a complete idiot. “Oh really? How sexy?“ he purred, gradually scooting closer towards the other blonde.
“Too damn sexy.“ Reita smiled and pulled Uruha towards himself by the waist.
Then no more words were spoken as they fulfilled each other’s desire in the pale light of morning.
It was 5:30 AM and some place else a plane was soaring towards the sky but of course they didn’t know and it was uncertain if them knowing had changed anything.
While Ruki was undeniably impulsive he wasn’t stupid enough to choose just any day for leaving his family, friends, band and whatever he had in his life behind like he was doing at the moment.
It was a Sunday, which meant no band practise, which meant no one would miss him until the next day.
By then this fourteen hour flight would lie behind him and he would be in ... Italy.
Not a choice he would’ve normally made but then again the whole purpose of this trip was to do things he wouldn’t normally do and if fate decided to take him to Italy then be it.
With this thought he closed his eyes and felt himself drift off to sleep, dreaming the dreams that had taken him here, onto this road with no return, these dreams that would never become reality and that would hurt and taunt him forever.
These dreams of Reita.
