I think the practice of minimizing viewpoints on any given issue into two supposed "polar opposites" does a vast disservice to any community by enforcing an Us vs Them mentality which separates, rather than unites.
At the very least, however, one should expect any declaration of "here is the demarcation -- you're on THAT side or THIS side" would be stated without obvious clues as to which should be considered "correct" and which is "wrong."
It is a shame this piece meets neither the more lofty goal nor the lesser one.
