Track 3: Waking up

May 09, 2010 13:04

[ The first thing Klavier notices when he wakes up, is the that he is back in Mayfield. How and when? He can't remember. Maybe he died then? Olivier had told him the dead will be resurrected in Mayfield. He just doesn't remember dying in the first place ( Read more... )

Gavin?!

[She doesn't sound distressed at all, not her.]

That hypothesis makes sense. They--whoever they are--seem to be able to manipulate memory. I'm a shining example of that...

That doesn't even make sense.

They are capable of doing quite a lot. I found a picture of my... Bruder in Westport... A happy drone Bruder that is.

Ah, so you say if you were stuck in a place like this for a long time, you wouldn't miss my voice one bit? I'm hurt, Fräulein.

.... I'm sorry, Gavin. [As much as he annoys the shit out of her, she knows that's a sensitive topic for him right now.]

And I meant your logic didn't make any sense. Why would I destroy something with your voice recorded into because I wanted to hear your voice? I can't answer for something I don't remember.

It's alright. No need to dwell in the past.

Ach, let's take this from the top, shall we? My suggestion was that when you received the Gavinners CD, you wanted to hear my voice, as you had been stuck in a place where there weren't that many familiar people.
Unfortunately, as this is the 1950s, cd-players are hard to come by. So, in you agitation, and we do know how easily you can get angry Fräulein, you destroyed the CD.

And nein, I didn't except you to answer that. It was simply a theory I came up with.

.... [Has SERIOUS doubts about his scenario.] Whatever theory makes you happy, Gavin.

How long have you been here?

[ He doesn't really believe it either, but hey, as long as it makes him happy! ] Bring me more evidence and we shall speak of this again.

Three weeks if I remember correctly.

[Flatly.] I'll do that. [She won't.]

That's quite some time... what have you learned about this place in that time?

Reply

gaydrill May 10 2010, 00:32:03 UTC
[ Thought so. ]

Not much, I'm afraid. Rather than learning, I've become even more confused as to what this place holds in.

[Agitated sigh.] You and me both. This place really doesn't make any sense, scientifically or otherwise.

Where are you?

Oh, believe me when I say we are not the only ones...

Cunningham Lane 5723.

[Sighs]

And how many people do you live with? People-people, not drones.

Me and my "wife" are the the only not-drones in this house.

How about you? Have you meet your family yet?

I've only met my "daughter." She's a drone. She calls me "mommy" and talks about "daddy" and an older brother. [And she creeps Ema the hell out.] I haven't been home much, though.

[ Well Klavier just recently met this "wife" of his. They both played ninjas for two weeks before meeting. ]

Where have you spent your time then if not home?

Investigating. And I spent some time with a man named "Sniper" when I first got here. Apparently some punk declared martial law when half the town was in Westport, and his place was something of a safehouse.
