See, I find there is a big line between lovers and friends. Albiet the line does cross occassionally when single. My question was more about the ways of making friends without the hazards of expected sexual return.
In my experience, most my friends I have made through dating. However, when in a relationship that option is closed so how does one go about meeting new and interesting fun people without dating or having them expect something to "come" of it, other than friendship?
The problem isn't neccessarily with those in the relationship. At least in Boston, most people are standoffish and unless there's the possibility of sex, or at least the physical interest, it is rare that single people would take interest in someone who is already in a solid relationship.

Not understanding that.
I mean, I'm with my BF and we both have either the same friends or our own.
The bigger issue is more like can two people in a relationship trust each other enough to have friends.
I believe it's very important to have friends especially while in a relationship...
